I want to help other sexual assault/rape victims, but I don’t know how?

I was sexually assaulted multiple times as a kid and it ruined so much for me. It can still be hard for me to live a normal life and I know other survivors are likely dealing with the same thing. I don’t know how to explain it but lately I’ve had this urge to help others but I don’t know how. I want to help them in a way that really matters.

Contact any support groups, or associations for this type of thing. Maybe contact women’s shelters. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Look into RAINN. It’s the main anti sexual assault organization. Maybe they have resources for finding a place to volunteer. Your local police should also have a victim services unit that trains and employs volunteers.

I’m in the same boat!! I have a yoga teaching certification, going to advance into my trauma sensitive training, potentially get a massage certification (we store trauma in our myofascia, so specializing in myofacsia release) and also want to go to school for psychology to become a therapist. This all came to me slowly and finally seems to make more sense. I also want to write a book with the tools that have helped me.
