Is it bad that my son is 2 in a half months and watching tv?

So hes been liking cartoons already... cocomeon and toy story...u dont think its bad that hes been watching and hearing cartoons at like 1 in a half or 2 months old? I mean i dont put it right in his face.. hes far away watching it. He likes color

I pressed no because I thought he is goring to be 2 years old in a half month. Because you used the word "in" instead of "and". 
Letting a young baby watch TV can overstimulate the baby and make night times miserable. If he isn't crying much because of it, I guess it ok. Just watch out. Listening to it is actually really good because it helps with vocabulary. Just the flashing lights and colours that might overstimulate

I am very comfortable following the expert recommendations of no screen time at that age, but to each their own. There is plenty of research showing it isn’t good.

It’s fine. Everyone needs a minute to get stuff done. My almost 6 month old watches tv sometimes bc of her older sister. I wouldn’t sit them in front of it all day long but here and there isn’t going to hurt. My oldest loves cocomelon. We always have the tv on for background noise.

My son loves Ice Age 🤷🏼‍♀️ he’s 12 weeks today. The squirrel makes him laugh. I put him in swing, put on a movie and fold laundry next to him. Is that good for kids? No. Not good for anyone. But if it gives you time to get things done and they are safe then that’s ok to me. My mom had me watch a whole lot more than than he does and my vision is good, I had great grades and got my bachelors degree. I don’t see how it’s that bad if it’s for short periods of time for you to accomplish things.

I don’t think it’s bad. But I wouldn’t suggest allowing too much screen time. Something about baby’s attention span can’t keep up with the TV frames or something. In this parenting program I’m in, I was informed that studies have shown too much screen time for babies can cause adhd later on. But I’m not 100% sure if it’s true or not. You’re definitely not a bad parent though.
