I recently started introducing my son to formula. I am giving him Similac Alimentum. He would cry every time I tried to breastfeed and it just wasn’t working for either of us anymore and he wasn’t gaining weight like he was supposed to. I have been pumping and giving him 75% breast milk and 25% formula since I did not have any breast milk saved up. My question is how often should he be pooping? He pooped Monday morning and it was a thicker/pasty consistency but still soft compared to breast milk but he hasn’t pooped since. Sometimes at night it seems like his stomach is bothering him and I give him gas drops and it helps. My doctor said they aren’t worried until 7-10 days which seems insane to me. Is this a transitional period or should I consider this the new norm? Thanks in advance, I am new to using formula and trying to figure it all out.
