Implantation bleeding question and TTC

My oldest is 6 we are TTC our 2nd child and besides the fact of being obsessed with paying attention to my body and a lot of reading. Is implantation bleeding really a thing. It’s been 6 years and I don’t remember this happening when I got pregnant with my first child. Plus I seen a lot of women asking if this is implantation bleeding. I don’t recall ever spotting once with my first at all period. No signs of dried blood or light pink nothing. Does implantation bleeding always happen and you just don’t notice because it’s very little amount? Should I be looking for the sign of implantation or just do old fashioned and wait till I’m late?
