It’s the fat shaming a pregnant lady for me....
I’m 5 foot 8 and i was up to 223 on fertility hormones. I’m very muscular and i don’t have a slender build. I can definitely lose a few pounds but you wouldn’t be able to tel I’m overweight by looking at me. I’m normally around 215.
Since getting pregnant I’m down to 201 and still steady losing weight.
Today the doctor told me they don’t want me gaining more than 20 pounds. They also drew my glucose test early and want to start me on baby aspirin due to my weight despite having years of perfect blood pressure.
I’m active and healthy. I’m not sure it’s possible for me to stay at 220 for my whole pregnancy saying 215 is where my body has been comfortable for years despite healthy diet and exercise.
I don’t want to diminish the known risks of being overweight, especially during pregnancy. I understand the potential negative effects and they shouldn’t be taken lightly. But it frustrates me that they’re throwing around the word obese so much and harping my weight. It frustrates me that I’m being harped about my blood pressure even though it’s never been a problem before.
This is mostly just a vent. Knowing this app I’m about to get attacked like no other. But do any other mid size or plus size mamas relate? I know my BMI is high but damn, can we look at my body type for one moment?!
