Failed Vbac

If you had a failed vbac, do you regret trying or wish you would have just had a repeat c-section? My hospital only does about 12 vbacs a year and that is really concerning to me. When I went into labor with my first, I was only a centimeter and a half dilated after having contractions for at least 4 hours and my water being broken for 2. That's as far as I made it because my son was breech (which we knew beforehand) and I had a csection. I'm concerned I won't progress easily with a vbac and they'll force me into a c-section. I had a beautiful c-section with my son. Minimal pain. I was at the hospital and he was in my arms within an hour of getting there, but I hated the recovery time and missing out on the first hour of his life during recovery. I was so fuzzy during the surgery that I barely remember anything after. I want to be present this time and then on my feet with my toddler before 6 weeks is up and not have to worry about such a sensitive area for him to damage. But I'm worried about failing and going through it all for nothing.
