More and more recently this has been happening and making me insecure. Guys will hit me up for months even a year asking to go out with me, once I take that step the effort isn’t there anymore.. what am I doing wrong??

I knew this guy for 5 years and he sent me a message June, September, October (I was going through personal problems so I never answered) until recently this same guy messaged me November and we had small talk, he wanted to hangout and I said okay.

Ironically two weeks ago we bumped into each other and hit it off. He wouldn’t leave my side after that all he sends me is a good morning text????

That effort to make small talk isn’t there anymore, why does this happen???

He always tells me good morning & have a great day. I respond and that’s all

This has been going on for a week, he doesn’t respond anymore.

I have initiated a good morning text and he’ll respond but cut it off.

The only difference I noticed is now I’m giving him more? I’m definitely showing him I’m interested as to before I was like whatever. Is that my mistake? Being so soon?

Am I not suppose to show interest right away?

Edit- that night he was constantly standing next to me and just trying to talk to me.

At one point a guy asked if I was his gf if not he wants to talk to me & “my” guy said “no sorry she’s with me”

No we didn’t sleep together.

I want to wait on that
