Last night I get a text from my dad that my mom recently started drinking again (she’s a recovering alcoholic) and she took his truck and wasn’t answering anyone’s messages or calls. 3 hours or so he calls me explaining she drove his truck into the lake (she’s okay) and got arrested, ended up getting a DUI and another charge for not wanting to get into the police car.

I am feeling so many emotions right now.. I really needed to get this out and also debating on going over there for the week or weekend (they live about 4-5 hours away) just not sure if that will intense things. My dad explained to me that he and my mom have finally been happy together for awhile and is just confused what trigger this for her. We all want to show how much we love her. My heart feels heavy right now.

Update -My mom went to court today and on February 4th will be her sentencing. She’s facing going to jail for a year or paying 5,000 fine each charge she got that night I’m hoping for her paying the fines but I’m so nervous I’m sure they maybe say that to scare people sometimes??? I don’t even know :(
