Just need to vent

So today I had my monthly appt at my ob/gyn earlier. I am 20 weeks pregnant and had some spotting after having sex with my fiancé. We have two kids together and this will make #3. She was concerned because she said I shouldn't be spotting at this stage. I told her I had intercourse this morning and after we finished I went to the bathroom and noticed pink spotting but nothing to be alarmed about.

When I got to the office they asked if I had to use the restroom and I said yes. I wiped and noticed it was still pink but had some bright red spots on the toilet paper so I brought it up. She checks the heartbeat with the doppler and everything is ok, so she does an vaginal exam. She asked if I have a history of herpes, I said no. She said I have an area that looks like trauma and that's where the bleeding is coming from. So she takes a viral swab and said she'll send it off to be sure.

I have never had any std's, so her question caught me off guard. I tore twice with my previous pregnancies and have scar tissue, so when I go a while without having sex, those areas get really sore and irritated from the friction.

I know she's just doing her job, but if she look at my history, she would know my background. Am I overreacting? I mentioned it to my fiancé and he didn't seem bothered, he just wondered why she would assume I had/have herpes. No rude comments please.

*UPDATE*

My results came back and it's negative. She thinks it's from me tearing from my previous vaginal birth. No spotting since Monday, so all is well!
