Hypertension, really?

Question

Is blood pressure of 126/76 really grounds for diagnosing me with Stage 1 hypertension? I really don’t like the MFM doctor I have seen and now he’s given me this diagnosis and thinks I need to get an ultrasound every 4 weeks until the birth. I’m almost 21 weeks now  and I haven’t had any signs of preeclampsia.

It does also depend on your previous blood pressures. If all of a sudden this BP was higher than the others your doctor could be concerned. This all sounds precautionary to me, probably a little overkill but better safe than sorry.

That's a great BP. Prehypertension doesn't start until the top number is consistently over 140 or the bottom number is consistently over 90.

I got diagnosed because I had 6 high blood pressures in the last 2 years. I got a monitor at home and it hasn’t been scary high even once! I’ve been logging it sometimes with my glucose cause I have GD too. They just they’ll monitor close but I was already getting growth scans starting at 28 weeks.

My blood pressure is consistently 125/85 and they’ve never said anything about it. My bottom number was over 90 once and she redid it manually and it was under 90. She said they would have been concerned if it was over 90. 
Has your doc talked to you about taking a baby aspirin daily?

That’s my blood pressure and my doc said it’s low which is why I get dizzy when I stand up quick or roll over in bed lol

I had preeclampsia with my first (mild and at 36 weeks). So far my blood pressure is always around 133/79 and my doctor has never been concerned. Even last week it was 141/92. She retook it and it was 127/75. Yes she monitors me closely but she told me she isn’t worry so far.
