Cord wrapping around babies neck?

How common is it for cords to wrap around babies neck before labor???

Well for me, my experience my third child, well let’s just say she was all over the place. My labor was hard. I went to the hospital in active labor. When I was checked I was 4 cm dilated. They sent me back into the waiting room for an hour (don’t ask me why 🤷🏾‍♀️). When I was taken back into the room I was 6 cm. Fast forward to delivery, I pushed for almost two hours, then they got the forceps and the vacuum for her. When she was born she had her cord wrapped around her neck three times and three true knots (true knots are the really tight ones). They wondered how she made it with the knots and cord they way they were. Of course she was a big baby too. They thought she was diabetic. How dare they talk about my lil plump. Now she’s 16, 5’9” and athletic toned.  
So cord around the neck can be common but it is also dangerous.

My daughter had the cored wrapped 2x around her neck. We didn't realize until she was coming out. Doctors had to reach in and pull her out while I pushed. I pushed for less than a half hour. She wasn't crying when she was born and I vaguely remember my fiance asking why she was blue. Thankfully she was okay and nothing was wrong with her

Cord wrapping around the neck (called a nuchal cord) is quite common, affecting 15-35% of pregnancies. It can be caught on ultrasound and should be monitored carefully to make sure it is not wound too tight and labor can be handled appropriately. Most women don’t know about this until labor though due to the lack of scans between 20 weeks and birth.

Im 37 weeks& i see the cord always around his neck it scares me. I can’t Wait to have him im so paranoid. He is breeched so i’ll have a csection. I try not to worry but I totally get it😒

My daughter had it wrapped 2x. The doctors didn’t catch it until after they broke my water and then the refilled my uterus with saline to try to float her out of it. Didn’t work and her vitals kept dropping so it turned into an emergency csection. I was told it’s common but in my daughters case it kept her from descending down far enough for me to give birth vaginally.
