*TRIGGER WARNING* Lisa Montgomery put to death.

Quick summary of the case:

Lisa Montgomery was born into a home filled with alcohol, drugs, abuse and torture. Her older sister was raped dozens of times while lying next to her and was eventually taken away by social services leaving Lisa and her little sister behind.

Then from age 7, Lisa was consistently raped and threatened that she and her little sister would be killed if she told anyone.

Her mother was aware of it. She even arranged for her daughter to be gang raped on multiple occasions so she could 'earn her keep'.

The trauma was relentless for 15 years. She lived in a dirty trailer with no running water, beside which her step father built a small shed where he would bring Lisa to be raped by him and others. They would often urinate on her afterwards.

She was forced to marry her step brother when she was 17 and the abuse continued. The abuse was often video taped. Lisa had 4 kids with him and was then forcibly steralised by her mother.

She separated from her step brother/husband and started a new relationship however was prone to psychotic episodes stemming from extreme PTSD.

In a desperate attempt to convince her new partner to stay with her, she told him she was pregnant. Her ex husband, knowing she was sterile, threatened to tell her new Partner she was lying and he also said he was taking 2 of her kids away from her.

Lisa had a mental breakdown, a psychotic episode, and committed a truly horrifying crime:

Under the pretence of buying a puppy, Lisa visited a young, innocent and heavily pregnant woman called Bobbie Jo Stinnett. Lisa strangled Bobbie, then cut the baby out of her stomach, brought the baby home and tried to pass her off as her own until she was arrested the following day.

The premature baby survived and was brought back to the birth father.

Although there is an argument that Lisa is not mentally fit, she took responsibility for her horrendous crime and was sentenced to death in 2007.

Throughout her time on death row, she had to take a complex cocktail of medication to prevent further psychotic snaps.

Earlier today, Lisa was administered lethal injection. The first woman to be put to death in 70 years.

My question is if you agree with this decision.

Personally, I feel she was failed by the state throughout her life and should have been imprisoned for life but not put to death.
