What to do when baby #2 is born

My son is 20 months old and I’m due February 17th. He’s never stayed the night somewhere without me or dad and I’m worried on how he’s going to take it. 
I have my mil who can watch him or our friends who live down the street but they have a almost 2 month old and I don’t want it to be too much on them. 
I’d also prefer my son stay at my house for bedtime and I’m worried that his routine won’t be followed and it’ll be messed up. 😬 any advice?

Maybe see if your mother-in-law can stay at your house with your son while you’re in the hospital? Even have her do a “practice” run of her staying over with you guys their
Or if you do want your son to go to her house while you’re in the hospital I suggest doing a “practice” run at it

My son will be 6 when I give birth. My husband and I discussed today that we’re not going to force him to stay with a family member. He’s not been a night away from him or I ever. He’s always had one of us. My husband will be present for the birth up until bedtime then he will come home to our son to sleep. Hopefully with Covid I think our hospital is trying to get you released within 24 hoursafter birth

I gave birth all alone, so my husband could stay home with our 2 year old... 😅wasnt fun to do it alone , but I wanted my son in his home, and filleting his routine so it wouldn’t affect him in any way, to be alone without us, why he’s never been without...

First time my daughter stayed away was for the birth of number 2. And routine isnt a big issue as long as he eats and sleep it's good. I've only ever had my kids away 3 times in last 4 yrs. All with family at their house it went good
