Cervix check

Last week I had my first cervix check at 36 weeks. They did the strep b swab first and it immediately was very uncomfortable. I couldn’t believe that it hurt because it’s just a swab but she said that I was pretty swollen down there and it’s probably from all the pressure from the baby.

Then she did the cervix check and I’m traumatized from it. That was horrible. She said she couldn’t feel if I was dilated or not because she couldn’t feel my cervix. I guess he is pushing it towards the back. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor since the last ones have been with the nurse practitioner.

I’m going to let my doctor check tomorrow but if it’s just as painful I’m not going to have them done anymore.

Has anyone else been told they couldn’t tell if you were dilated or not? Was your check extremely painful?
