Any moms taking or took Zolpidem???

So my dr prescribed me Zolpidem since I’ve been having trouble sleeping from being in pain.  Back, hip, shoulder and pelvic pain🤦🏽‍♀️ Has anybody else taken this? It’s only 5mg but after researching it has a lot of side effects and articles saying not to take if pregnant. He told me to only take every other day because it can be addictive. I’m just not sure how I feel about it or taking it

Taking meds only treats symptoms, but not the root cause. Maybe you could try going to the Chiropractor/Physiotherapist first? I‘ve been going to physio due to back pain and it‘s helped a lot so far.

I have been prescribed Zolpidem this pregnancy for insomnia from anxiety from my prenatal psychiatrist. She said it is safe in pregnancy as long as your not taking it all the time ( even not pregnant you don’t want to take it a lot).  I also did a lot of research o. It and many woman get prescribed it in pregnancy and all is ok. They only say to avoid it because there have not been large trial studies on it, but it has never been linked to birth defects, stillbirth etc. Just take the low dose and only when needed. I have taken it on several occasions since my first trimester and baby is doing great. Sleep is so important!

I used to take it regularly before I got pregnant. I was told not to take it now during pregnancy, but from the research I did, it seemed like the risks were more for early pregnancy. I've really been considering taking half a pill, just once or twice, so I can get more than 90 mins of sleep at a time before I give birth. I'm 38 weeks. I'm pretty sure it couldn't hurt at this point, but I'm not a doctor!
