Is your LO using a spoon yet?

Question

My son will be 1 soon in a couple of weeks, but I still spoon feed him the loose foods such as rice, couscous and his morning oatmeal.
He is completely baby led weaned so he eats all foods on his own, and all sorts and sizes. Just hasn't used a spoon yet. I tried and he just flicks it away lol. Should I try harder?

Mine uses fork n spoon. Fights me for it. He has one n i have one while i feed him.

Im trying but she plays with it! When i put food on the spoon she eats it well and she’s so proud, but I Have to scoop for her 😂

I use to work at a daycare with all ages. We introduced spoons at age 1 but they all mostly ate with their hands. We showed and taught them how so that by age 2 they had a better understanding and for the most part knew how to use a spoon. By age 3 they all knew how to use it although not as well as adults.

My LO holds his spoon but mostly just plays with it. He’s not “spoon trained” yet but I still give him a spoon so he’s continuously familiar with it. I’m still working on a sippy cup lol
