Covid vaccine?

I have a 1 year old and my friend is supposed to come over this evening. Well she just told me she’s getting the vaccination today. Can anyone give me info on if it’s live she could possibly pass it to me or my child even without symptoms ?? Didn’t know where to post this

Not from the vaccine, but she could most certainly have Covid and be asymptotic.

Your friend could still have Covid and be asymptomatic. This means she could still give your family Covid.
The vaccine doesn’t prevent you from getting, or spreading, the virus. It only stops you from experiencing the symptoms of the virus.

The vaccine is not live but is also won’t be effective after a few hours. It takes a couple weeks after the second dose for the body to develop immunity. It also doesn’t prevent her from being a carrier and able to pass it on.
