Many people, including Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, have criticized President Joe Biden’s decision to halt the Pipeline, saying the move has cost thousands of jobs.
The reasoning behind the move is both environmental and social. The Pipeline poses a major oil spilling hazard in environmentally sensitive land. It also imposes on Native American land, and risks the safety of drinking water.
