Ex Boyfriend won’t leave me alone

I broke up with my ex boyfriend about a year ago. He was abusive and i left him after having enough of him. We have a daughter together also. I haven’t seen him since then but now he is coming back into my life and now he won’t leave me alone. I don’t know how he found me again but he’s been stalking me, texting me from unknown numbers and watching me. He keeps saying he wants to get back in contact because he wants to see his daughter. I don’t want him around her. He’s definitely not okay in the head and this just proves my point further. He’s even come inside of my house while i wasn’t home and left me a note on my bed saying how much he misses me and wishes he could sleep next to me again. I called the police and they investigated my house and everything but they can’t do anything if they don’t know where he is. It’s scaring me. I’ve also tried looking for houses so i can move out but I would have to work harder and longer to make enough money for that right now. I don’t wanna have to move but i don’t wanna stay and risk him hurting me or my daughter. Since this has been going on i haven’t had my daughter in the house and i’ve been leaving her at my moms house because i’m too nervous for her to stay here with me. How do i get him to stay away from me and leave me alone?
