Something I thought would never happen
I’m 23 and I’ve had my fair share of dating and terrible men... if you could call them that. I was in a six year relationship with my high school sweetheart. He cheated on me and then I went on basically a million and one first dates. Had two very short relationships if you could call them that since they only lasted like two months. I then got into a relationship with a man that completely took advantage of me for a whole year and a half. He then left me and got married to someone in one month... which led me to believe that he was cheating the whole time 😞. He even had the audacity to invite me to his wedding 🤬. So after that I had stayed single for three years and focused on me.... I hated dating apps and when my sister-in-laws or friends would try to set me up with anyone. I was over it... done ✅
This year past, I started a new job in my field. With local city government that I absolutely adore 🥰 I met this guy a month after I started my job in February and was immediately interested, but I told myself no because this is work and I’m a professional person. It wasn’t until Spring and Summer that we worked very close together almost every day. Then we started playing video games everyday with a coworker and I created an entire discord server/group with a majority of our funny coworkers. We had five months of intense talking on top of being friends already. I really liked him so I started to pursue him by flirting a bit. He didn’t really respond for a while... so I thought he wasn’t into me but then I’d catch him staring a lot. I then told another coworker that I liked him, when she asked me if I knew how old he was. I said no and why? And then she dropped that he is 33. I had no problem with our age difference but I was thinking that it might be part of his hesitancy. I took advantage of video gaming when our other coworker couldn’t join and made up a lie that I was sick and tired of my sister-in-law trying to set me up with guys my age and that I like guys in their 30’s... to which he responded with an audible interest sound. A week or so later he asked me out, we confessed that we’ve both liked each other from the beginning. He was worried that I wouldn’t like him because his living situation, he has lived with his grandmother the last seven years because he’s been taking care of her with some help from his aunt here and there. If anything, that made me like him more because of how respectful and responsible he is 💕 And now after two, almost three months of dating and a year of knowing each other we are engaged!!! We are so excited to be non-traditional. He bought me a engagement ring with a moonstone which is my favorite 😍 and I bought his wedding band, but he also wants a ring to wear before we get married so other women leave him alone 😂 so I got those too!
This is his engagement band! Mountains like we both love 💕 as we are both planning on moving to Washington as soon as possible 🥰
This is the wedding band I picked out and it comes tomorrow!!!! I’m so excited ☺️
My friends mom volunteered to make the dress that I want, which is very sweet 💕🥺 I saw a dress on Etsy but I couldn’t justify buying a 1,000+ dress for less then a day since we are eloping. But I found the fabric used for the dress and a pattern and she’s going to make it free, I just have to buying the fabric 😌✨ so here is the dress and inspiration!
And here is the ring he picked out for me! 💕💕✨
And here’s a cute picture of us: I had a laser projector 📽 on so excuse the weird blobs 😂
