Conscientious objections in healthcare.
Should medical professionals be allowed to refuse treatments or prescribing medication to their patients, if it goes against their own personal beliefs?
Some examples;
Doctors/pharmacists refusing to prescribe birth control medication, including emergency contraception.
Nurses/theatre assistants refusing to prepare the tools that are about to be used for the treatment they are objecting to.
Surgeons refusing to perform certain procedures, like sex-reassignment surgery?
