HELP PLEASE!!! My cat keeps attacking my guests!!!

We've had our cat for 2 years, he's a good boy.

He's neutered and still has all his claws. Usually he's pretty chill and affectionate. He has tons of toys and we always make sure we keep his litter box cleaned.

EVERY TIME we throw a party, he turns into a little demon. We always make sure his favorite spots are left alone, and all our bedroom doors are left open so he has a quiet spot to retreat to. He has toys in every room.

We currently have 6 people over. We're all drunk and loud. But we're all just sitting at the table playing scrabble. Nobody has left our dining room. The cat keeps walking over to us and swatting at our guests, hissing, and trying to bite. His tail keeps flicking and he's displaying obvious aggressive behavior. However, he's still rubbing up against our legs like he's being affectionate. I don't know how to read him. He'll go from purring to hissing in .1 seconds.

We made him a nice little bed in the bedroom, and brought food and water in there. (He already has a litter box in there) We set him in there, gave him nice pets and some treats and left him in there with the door still open. He was totally nice.

Of course 10 seconds later he's back out in the dining room again trying to bite people. I have no idea what he wants or what he's trying to do. If he hates our guests so much why does he keep coming around and rubbing on everyone's legs before hissing at them????

Ugh please help!!
