Full term?

I’m 37+3 and my doctor said I am full term and could safely deliver anytime now?! Anyone ever told that that’s full term too? I always thought it was 39+ weeks. 
My first I never was really told by doctors when I was full term they just let me keep going on being pregnant well past my due date and that was that lol.

37 weeks is early term 38-39 is  mid 39+ is full. 37 use to be considered full but the obgyn/Pregnancy association has updated since then. At 37 weeks it's considered safe to deliver without stopping it. Anything before 36 and they will try to medically stop it. Basically you will deliver if you happen to go into labor

36 is late preterm. 37 is early term. 38 mid term 39+ is full term. 
Due dates are a guess as are gestational age.

You are term, not full term. If you go into labor naturally at 37 weeks, they won't try to stop your labor because natural labor is usually triggered by the baby once the lungs are fully developed. But they won't do an intervention before 39 weeks unless medically necessary.

There was just published, like last week, a new huge study showing that babies born early, yes even at week 37 and 38 have a higher risk of early death and/or several diseases.

Yup 37 is full term. I was induced at 37+4 and had a healthy baby.

I was high risk, and coming from a family of doctors - including OBGYN’s, yes 37 weeks is full term. My son was born at exactly 37 weeks and completely healthy.
