Bassinet help?!

Question

How do you get your baby's to sleep in their bassinet? I'm having issues with getting her to sleep in it, I cannot swaddle Ivs tried many times, and she still has her days and night mixed up she's almost 2 weeks old

We had the same issue when our daughter was a newborn. For the swaddle you could try a Halo Sleepsack Swaddle. They are very easy to use. Try and keep the room as dark as possible and try white noise if you haven't already. For the bassinet try and warm up the mattress before laying baby down (you can use a heating pad just make sure it isn't too hot & you take it out before laying baby down) or you could wrap the mattress in one of your shirts that you have worn (so baby can still smell you).

I got her sleeping in it for naps first. Best sleep advice I ever read was to make any changes to the sleep environment/routine for naps first so that baby and you don't get overtired by missing out on night sleep. I had the Halo bassinet that I could swing out over the mattress a bit so she was still right next to me but in her own space. I'd put my face literally right up on the mesh haha. Once she got used to that I slowly moved the bassinet away and incorporated it for night sleep. Then I worked up to her napping entirely without me which was a glorious day.

My daughter is 3.5 weeks old and I had the same problem for so long! I just kept trying. Even if I had to hold her and re-rock her sleep every 10 minutes. I would get her to sleep, put her in it, then when she woke up and started crying 10 mins matee I would do it all over again. I just kept trying. Now she does pretty good with sleeping on her own. Some nights are easier, some are harder. Just keep trying. Try wrapping her in a tshirt that you've worn recently.  If she is wrapped in your smell it might be easier for her. Good luck mama!  I know how much of a struggle it can be.

Sleep sack. Or the Velcro swaddles.
For my first, she really didn’t have much of an issue in the bassinet, she was also really comfortable on her stomach. It’s a taboo for some people but she was most comfortable that way & always monitored. Until she was able to roll comfortably, I was always watching.
A sound machine near by helped.

Mine is 6 weeks old anddddd we’re still having this issue. He’s finally been going down in a swaddle, but only from 130 am to 5 am with a wake up for a feed in between, then after I get my man to work he goes back in so I can get some sleep. This morning I didn’t get him down right away and I got maybe 2 hours of sleep before he woke up again. I don’t like keeping him in a swaddle all day and undressing him to swaddle him every time I want him to go down is like annoying so I just don’t bother. We still do shifts at night since he won’t go down until 1:30 (and sometimes he still doesn’t want to go down) I’m just hoping he grows out of it cuz I’m not okay with bed sharing
