Birth control and PCOS
This is going to be a long one so i apologise now.
I am 19 and have pcos, I am also in a relationship of more than 3 years and I'm finally comfortable with the idea of maybe trying some form of birth control whether that be the pill or the patch, etc.
My main 2 reasons for wanting to try BC is to help with my pcos symptoms (my main ones are excessive amounts of hair, bad ovary pain at all times of the month, headaches during ovulation and mood swings, sometimes severe. However, my periods are currently regular, every 32 days and have been only for the past 6-8months and I'm worried BC will affect this),, my other reason for wanting to try it is to avoid pregnancy due to my age and my current situation.
However, all I keep seeing online is bad experiences with BC; while being on it and it effecting how life has been for the people afterward coming off it (periods take months to return and are more painful after, it takes months/years to conceive and effects fertility badly), this is making me very reluctant to try anything. Has anyone got any positive stories about being on BC and their lives after coming off it.
Also does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations towards this subject as it is causing me a lot of anxiety thinking about all the things that going on BC could cause and negative thoughts about my possible future?
Any comments or suggestions will be very much appreciated 💕
