Induction?

Does anyone know why in general, you’re more likely to hemorrhage when you get an induction?
(My midwife informed me of this but I didn’t even think to ask why, I think she informed me because I had two blood transfusions with my first and she said induction creates even more risk on top of my previous issue).

I’ve never heard that. I was induced and was perfectly fine.

I didn't know you were. Maybe because induction can cause worse contractions and where the body would try to protect itself and stop labour, induction will just keep going. Just a theory though.

I was never informed of this when I had my induction

It may be because it causes unnatural contractions which are stronger with no natural breaks

I’ve never heard that - just that induction more often leads to csections I’m assuming that’s because your body isn’t ready for whatever reason

If your at risk of blood problems I can cause hemorrhages because it's putting your body in stress and if you have history of complications they will monitor you and baby more because of the increase risk factors but really it only causes stress since your body isn't getting breaks between contractions

Pitocin creates more stress on your uterus than natural contractions. That's also why they usually don't allow pitocin with a vbac.

My first thought is that induction creates a higher risk for an emergency csection which has a higher risk of hemorrhage. Id just ask them to clarify exactly what they meant the next time you go in
