We aren’t doing a social media announcement - we didn’t announce our pregnancy on social media either. I’m sure we’ll have pictures with him on there eventually, but at least early on we just want closer friends and family to know. A friend offered to do a free newborn shoot for us, so we’ll have some cute pictures of our little guy, and we’re thinking about sending them out. In my mind it would be a sweet memory, and even if some people already knew he was born and when (like our immediate families and closest friends), they might like the momento to save or hang on the fridge.

That being said, are birth announcements old fashioned or a waste? Also, some people we likely wouldn’t call to tell, we simply would send the birth announcement, so I don’t want anyone to be offended by finding out via card. What are your thoughts on it?
