How to quit job because of school?

So I work a full time job with inconsistent hours and just started a heavy course load at school.
I am taking 16 credits and this is my last semester (yay!). I am worried because my classes are already demanding a lot from me (5 page papers every week, quizzes, & dense research assignments). 
I have money saved up and am considering quitting my job in order to focus my studies but I don’t know how to inform my job.

Draw up a resignation letter and give it to them. Set a date at least 2 weeks out and inform them that you’re resigning so you can focus on school in your final semester. A resignation letter should almost be like a thank you note too - thank them for the opportunity, and mention some things you enjoyed while working with them (on the job skills you learned, positive management, whatever).

There are templates online for a resignation letter. Tweak one of those - basically the basic thing to say is thank-you for then opportunity but you are handing in your notice to focus on school.  And your final shift date.
