Partner apparently doesn’t need to test for COVID??
So, there’s been a hotel guard here in Perth, Australia that we’ve been told has the Deadly UK Strain for COVID 19. He’s been to over 15+ places before he found out he had it, from Jan 25th or something to Jan 30th when his test came back positive. Anyway, my partner was at one of the place this guy went to, but not within the same time frame. The guard went to a service station at between 11am and 12pm and did whatever he was doing... and then my partner went there at 10-11pm THAT night. Is it possible my partner could have COVID and should get tested?? My partner has been up at his parents house since this has happened as we’re in lockdown and he’s kind of self isolating.. he rang the COVID clinic and asked if he should get tested as he was at one of the place this guard went to and they said no? That he doesn’t need to get tested if he has no symptoms... what I don’t get is that it takes like 7-14 days for symptoms to show doesn’t it?? My partner rang two days after this all went down, it would be too early to show symptoms anyway?? He wants to come down and see me when the lockdown ends (on friday) but I don’t want him to come down just in case he does have it. As I’m high risk, I’ll die if I get it. My lungs are weak. We also have a two year old. I’ve told him to wait until NEXT week to come down and he’s pissed. I told him to get get tested and he said he can’t because they said he doesn’t need to if he doesn’t have symptoms?? What if he’s Asymptomatic?! Since the news 16,000 people have been tested... yet this guy only came in constant with 150+ people... so why can’tmy partner get tested when he was ACTUALLY at one of the places this guy went to? He could have community transmission through the cashier at the service station. Like I don’t understand?
