Who are you going to let hold your baby (COVID question)?
This is a very strange question I never thought I'd have to ask. I am 21 weeks along with my first, and never imagined being pregnant during a pandemic. I always imagined hugging everyone, and big baby showers, and shopping at all the baby stores with friends and family (not masked up), so sometimes it gets to me emotionally.
It has got me thinking that I'm due in June, and unfortunately COVID is showing no signs of going away by then (if ever). Again, pre-COVID I always imagined passing my baby around to all my friends and family that wanted to hold them (as long as they washed their hands first), but with COVID I'm unfortunately going to have to set boundaries. Babies have gotten it, and my niece's cardiac pediatrician is starting to see many children with enlarged hearts after having caught it.
So who are you planning on letting hold your baby? Just your parents? What about your siblings? Extended family (aunts, uncles, etc)? Friends? It's hard finding that balance of enjoying sharing and bonding with your baby and making the right decisions for their health with this 😕
