My brother passed away two weeks ago. He was my only sibling and the Uncle who my daughter knew best. Her other uncle lives in South Africa.

We haven’t discussed things with her yet. She knows mommy is sad (the tidal waves of emotion hit so randomly), but that’s it.

I was just wondering if anyone else here has had to discuss death or heaven with their little one yet or perhaps an older sibling and how did you approach it?

I’m so lost. Not only with myself, but how to tell my daughter about him in a way I’m not going to lose it and scar her. I don’t want her first memories to be his death, but I want to share him with her. She absolutely loved her Uncle DJ. It already kills me she won’t remember him when she’s grown and that he never got to meet our boy we just had 7 weeks ago (he was supposed to fly out to visit for Christmas, but didn’t because of Covid).

I need some guidance on this. If anyone knows of any resources please let me know. Thank you.
