Hi all!

Today I had my first transvaginal ultrasound. We got to see the baby’s heartbeat (yay!) and found out we are measuring a few days ahead. However, at one point when the tech said she was checking around my left ovary, it was extremely painful. The rest was fine, but during the time she was checking that area I was in pain. When she pulled the wand out there was blood. She said it was perfectly normal to spot during early pregnancy, but she did appear a little shocked by the amount. Obviously when I came home to clean up there was still blood left. What could that be? Is it associated with the pain I felt?

I know I shouldn’t be worried since the baby’s measurements were good, but I don’t get to follow up with the OB until next week. Did anyone else experience this?
