so i have a boys name an i love it so does my family Dezmen scott

My parents names me with an alternate spelling and although it kinda sucks to not me able to find my name on any of those named gifts or trinkets, I love that they spelled it differently. It takes people a second to figure out how to pronounce it but I love it and its unique :)

Just throwing this out there. No judgement or negativity towards your name here!

I teach elementary school. A lot of times, parents don't realize there was a more common alternate spelling for the name they chose. This can lead to children spelling their names differently than their birth name. Dezmen is more commonly spelled Desmond (usually pronounced the same with a silent or underpronounced final d).

Now this is not to say that your spelling is "wrong". It's just food for thought. I had a girl who had Patrisha on her birth certificate, but spelled her name the more common way: Patricia. It was frustrating for her every year when she had to re-explain this.
