When is everyone going to start setting up?

Poll question: “Is it silly for me to start this soon?” Read below👇🏼👇🏼
I am 13w2d with twins and DYINGGGG to start setting up everything. I’ve already ordered clothes (just a few things). I know what cribs I want and what car seats I want as well. Im not in a rush to get the big things but since we are building an addition to the house for the babies I’m wondering when is a good time to start setting up. I finally have a bit more energy & because it’s twins I honestly want to be done by the first of June. Thats when my doctors appointments will move to about weekly between my regular OB & MFM & of course all twins run the risk of preterm labor. I feel like starting now would give us 4 solid months to have everything ready to go which we’ll need with the addition and I’m sure by June I’ll start to become very uncomfortable (30 weeks). My NIPT & NT scan has also come back good as well & I know that obviously doesn’t guarantee anything but it does give me the confidence to go ahead and start early. I wana hear from other August mama’s on when they plan to start nursery’s/buying things, etc...

My son was born at 33 weeks. This baby is high risk as well with the likelihood of another preterm delivery. We aren’t wasting time 😂

It’s a little different since you are having twins but this is my second LO. With the first we waited till after the baby shower and I am glad we did because we received a lot of items we wanted. 
This pregnancy my parents already bought a crib and changing table as my 15 month old most likely will not be out of her crib by august. I have been watching for a double jogger stroller to show up on marketplace. But besides those items I will probably wait till 20 week scan to buy clothes, and miscellaneous items.

I’ve heard that if you are feeling good, take advantage of that while you can! Especially with twins, which could come a bit early, or you just may feel out of commission sooner than normal! It’ll probably help your mind relax a bit as you see things start to come together! 
I’m 13+6 with a singleton (so jealous of your twin status!) and I have recently been itching to get some things in place. (Mostly just to determine the nursery colors. We’re having a girl and I am not a big fan of all the pink! So I would love to establish the crib & sheets before my MIL starts making me quilts of PINK!!! ...Appreciate the gift, just not the color!) 
We’re waiting for my mom to visit next month, and once they leave, the guest room will become the nursery.

Lol basically do what you want. If you have time and energy, go for it. If you want to wait until after the babies, that works too. I mean 13 weeks is really early to start setting up but with twins you don’t know if you’ll be on bed rest at the end. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can start whenever you want. But once you start buying, you’ll either have a house or room full of stuff that will just sit there for 6 months. Also, if you’re having a shower, I’d hold off on buying things like car seats as you may get them there (also keep in mind that car seats have expirations so if you buy now, you’ll lose almost a year of use). I bought furniture around 25 weeks last time and it left me a ton of time to prep without having stuff sitting around collecting dust. I had an iugr baby so I had to be prepared to be induced any time after 35 weeks. I spent these weeks last pregnancy just planning nursery and building my registry.

Do what feels right to you! I will say if you get everything early and get it done well before your date the “omg I’m forgetting something” will be a lot worse lol. I’d just start slow and get stuff when it’s on sale or whatever but get it whenever you want.

My last came at 36 weeks my goal is to have everything set up and ready by 35 weeks I say do what you want and are comfortable with 🙂

I'm at 13 weeks and I'm buying diapers every time I get a coupon in the mail.
I've tried buying a few other things that are in good condition from Facebook marketplace but my husband worries it's too soon. I think whatever works well for you. I think he just doesn't want to have stuff sitting around if we end up losing the baby but I'm a huge planner.
