Earliest date to take a pregnancy test and which brand should I use?

Tired of the terrible brands and false positives. Which one do you use and when?

I used the cheap .88 cent ones 5 days before period. I took 2 of those and clear blue and a digital throughout the day to confirm. Everyone is different and will get positives different times, good luck and baby dust

After losing my damn mind with First Response, easy @ home, accumed and mommed the last few months, I decided to try Pregmate and I’m SO glad they did. I tested a bunch of them before I even ovulated, and even in water (because water had thrown PINK indents on other brands, so had people on here voted pregnant when I tested it with a poll 🙃) they had NO indents. 
I also chose them because I had heard they were even better than First Response at early detection and it seems right. 
This is 7dpo, 8dpo, 9dpo, 10dpo and 11dpo.

I didn’t get a positive on first response until yesterday. 
Basically, can’t recommend Pregmate enough. Just be sure to read the directions because most tests you dip for 5 seconds, but these only for 3 so they’re more prone to dye runs. 
ALSO this an extremely early positive. With my son (a healthy almost 3 year old!) I didn’t get a positive even on first response until 11dpo. The earliest I would recommend testing is 8dpo, I just had a loooooot of tests sitting around so I figured why not.
