We have three kids and covid has hit us hard. We are doing fine financially but not in the position to make a lot of non essential purchases. My husband decided tonight that he wanted to spend $700 on generator. I told him it’s not a bad idea not we should wait a couple of paychecks and save up a little so we don’t have to dip into savings for the purchase right now.

Long story short he’s pissed at me about and drank 3/4 of a bottle of rum. I begged him to stop drinking and he refused saying why shouldn’t he drink as much as he wants, I’m not his mother. I tried to hide the bottle and he found it and continued to drink. The kids are spending the night at my moms tonight so they’re not here thankfully and I want to leave too but can’t leave him alone in case he hurts himself. He’s saying some horrible things, like he doesn’t care if I leave him, that’s he’s never going up be happy because he’s not a rich celebrity, that I ruin everything he wants to do in life and he hates the fact we have kids.

His drinking has been escalating a little bit but he’s never been this drunk and I know he did it to spite me. I know I need to leave but he also needs help and can’t be on his own tonight incase he vomits. He’s now lying in our bed in silence but awake. What do I do?
