Here’s a crazy story for anyone feeling nosy. So holy cow, I’ve been talking to this guy all the time for a week. I hold him about my terrible ‘almost boyfriend’ and he was very validating. I told him I just wanted to be friends. He’s very cute but he lives in.... Morocco currently. I told him the American term for what we are is pen pals. He’s very good at English and wanted to help me with Arabic for college. Early on I made a joke about him not pulling a “90 day fiancée” on me which came off racist so I apologized in a thoughtful way. I can tell he thinks I’m a virgin because he asked me if I’ve had boyfriends even though I already told him. He said he thought it was beautiful I was waiting for the right person. He also told me premarital sex is one of the biggest sins in Islam. Goddamn I gotta shut this down😭 He’s a good friend, but he also used the kissy emoji 😘 when he wished me good luck on my quizzes today. I tried to keep it platonic, but I let it slip I would consider converting to Islam in the future. I don’t feel like I can be fully myself with him because of his policy on sex and porn, and I’m very progressive. I *need to* tell him somehow that what he thinks is happening is NOT happening.
