Contractions that stopped?

Question

Anyone ever get contractions that lasted only about an hour, and then stopped? 
They started when I was laying down, stopped when I got up but when I laid back down they came  by again but then stopped after a couple🤔 39 weeks.
Now my back just hurts today like I’ve been through a battle lol

Yep! I had them for 2 weeks with my first and 2 days with my second 😞
It’s called prodromal labor.
With my first I thought they were actual labor contractions because they followed the rules everyone talks about (5 minutes apart, lasting a minute for an hour or more) and as I was already dilated and leaking hind water, I would rush to the hospital every time only to be told soon but not yet 😐. When active labor started, the contractions started getting closer together (so not only 5 minutes apart, they started coming 4 minutes then 3 then 2) and each one was a bit more intense than the one before. That’s when they finally admitted me.
With my second, they actually admitted me around 2 AM but the contractions slowed down by morning. They told me those contractions were helping her get in a better position because she was sunny side up but not dilating me. I chose to go back home. They told me to take Tylenol and have a warm bath if I feel them again and to come back if that doesn’t help. I had her the following day, 30 mins before her due date.

Yup. That happened to me with my first from 38w until I was induced at 41+2.. so annoying lol. Just your body getting ready
