Using your Ex as a shoulder to cry on. Is it OK?

Would you be ok with using your Ex as a shoulder to cry on? 
If you’re dating someone would you be ok with your partner being the shoulder for their ex? 
What if it’s a twice a month thing? What if its daily?
 
When is it ok? When is it not ok?

It’s not okay, period. If you still have contact with your ex outside of children being involved I don’t feel like it’s appropriate unless it was a very brief non-intimate/sexual relationship. I know for my relationship we both share those views on exes.

I’ve still had very good relationships with ex’s in the passed. However I am married now and I do not have any contact with any men what’s so ever. So if I was single and a couple of my ex’s I can think of WERE SINGle them yes of course we had great friendships and were always still there for each other. Sometimes relationships just don’t work for reasonable reasons but people don’t get sour. 
But if you or/and them are in a any relationship then absolutely not! It’s wrong
