No to the traditional ones but the Montessori ones are soooo good! I had the Monti kids subscription which is so expensive but the mobiles that came with it was seriously my babies first toys. He would lay there and kick up a storm with so much excitement looking at them. Etsy and other websites make knock offs of it that I got my friend as a gift. Definitely worth looking into.

I got one from IKEA, it’s $8 and great. Put it above the changing table, so your LO is districted enough when you need it. 
Had a Fisher price one with my first child and it was never used.

No. If you like how it looks, buy it. None of my kids had it. It also teaches something wrong imo. I want my kids to associate their beds with sleeping from the get go. If they're sleeping, they are in bed. If they're awake, I take them out.
