Anesthesia at 20 months
Wasnt sure where to post.
My son will be getting full anesthesia next month so that they can look into his mouth to find out what is wrong with his teeth.
Apparently am not to feed him 6 hours before. And just water latest 2 hours before.
My challenge is i have a cluster feeder. He breastfeeds every 2 hours at most. He doesn't eat much as he only refumed accepting food 3 weeks ago.
Any one ever had their child get anesthesia before? How did it go? Any times on how to keep him from feeding for 6 hours are welcome. I even want to start weaning before the appointment so any tips are welcome. Thank you.
Update: those wondering why my son is nursing so much. We have had our fair share of struggles between lip tie, weak teeth and not being able to open mouth well. I know the struggles i have gone through to get my child to eat and everything i have tried. The visits to the doctor and all the videos i have watched, articles i have read and people i have talked to, to get help. Not to mention the toil it has taken on both child and i. So before you mom shame me, just know there is a reason behind why he needs anesthesia.
Those who gave me constructive advice. Am really so grateful. Thank you so much. You dont know how much relief you extended to me with your kind words and help. We are grateful and you have played a role in my son getting better. Thank you. Currently am trying to extend how long my son can go without latching. With some success and fails but still got 3 weeks to get him to a bigger stretch. Hopefully after his appetite will change for the best.
