Would you take your toddler on an airplane (2 hours each way) during COVID?
I live in the US, where COVID is in no way under control, but is getting better due to vaccine rollout. My husband, daughter, and I have been completely isolated because our families are scattered across the country. She was set to start daycare the week everything shut down, but now that we both work from home, she’s been home with us 100% of the time. She is DYING to play with other kids. She has two cousins that are her age that she’s never met except over FaceTime. My parents and siblings have all been vaccinated or will be in the next month due to their age, pre-existing health conditions, or occupations. It’ll probably be several months before my husband and I will be vaccinated. My family rented a vacation home in April for us all to finally reunite, relax, and get the kids together. It’s a huge house with a pool and tons of other amenities, so we won’t really leave once we are there. We’ll be cooking our own meals, ordering take-out, etc. My family has been extremely careful throughout this entire pandemic and we’ve sacrificed a lot by not seeing each other. Would you take your toddler on a plane to see family or is it irresponsible?
