Backstory :

At 12weeks and 5days I did the Sneak Peek . About 5days later email said it was a girl!

Nipt chaos:

At 12 weeks and 6days I went in for the first trimester ultrasound and got offered NIPT with insurance to cover it . So of course I said Yes! Normally takes 7-10days to get results .

15days later I got an email saying

"Normal results!

Due to an internal lab error, the results for the predicted sex of the baby are not yet available, but we will let you know as soon as we have them. The lab was not able to give me an estimated wait time. So sorry for any inconvenience."

Couple days later on a Thursday I called them asking what had happened. the nurse told me that me and 24 other people didn't meet the quality check. The lab was going to retest the next day Friday, I'd have results 3-5days after.

5days later(Wednesday) I called seeing if they got it resolved, that nurse told me on that Friday they would test it and they didn't get to it last Friday.

3days(Monday) after that Friday I called once more asking of anything was found out . The genetic counselor told me the lab that are responsible for the testing cancelled me and the 24 other tests , we'd all get full refunds .

The next day the Genetic counselor called me saying she got news on my test , there was a problem with the Y chromosome in my dna sample. And they couldn't retest my blood because it would come up with the same incomplete result

Now I'm super confused ! If they found a Y chromosome doesn't that mean a boy? And if the Nipt (which is the best dna test) couldn't find the gender how did sneak peek???
