Anybody who knows ??

Question

I been crying 😢 I’m so depressed and being 5 months pregnant it’s really hurting me. Can it also hurt the baby or anything?

Answer

It’s much worse for you than baby. They become concerned that depressed mothers don’t take care of themselves (ie more likely not to eat well or drink alcohol or use other coping methods) but being sad or emotional doesn’t hurt your baby in any way. I had prenatal depression with both kids and postpartum with one, both my sons are smart, healthy, and extremely happy. It’s starting to hit me again this pregnancy at about 12 weeks. But depression really sucks! Take it easy and I hope the best for you.

Extreme stress can cause early labor, but its unlikely. Either way depression during pregnancy isnt good. I know its not something you can just choose to stop, but definitely seek help if you feel thats best. Therapists can be a big help and some medications are safe during pregnancy. Post partum depression is another really big concern. Its dangerous and can be caused by depression during pregnancy
