Getting an Ex Back?

I just wondered if anyone had successfully managed to reconnect with their ex and I wondered how you'd gone about it? Let me know your stories please! After some advice!

My current boyfriend and parted ways for two months earlier this years before getting back together. He broke up with me at the beginning of April- before finals. It was very sudden and I didn't see it coming at all. He broke up with me because he had allowed feelings of guilt to build in our relationship. It was my very first relationship and I loved with complete abandon and he just felt he couldn't reciprocate the same love back to me, all of the feelings grew to be too much and they all spilled out at once. He needed some time to sort things out. It wasn't a bitter parting at all- I understood, respected his honesty and the fact he needed to take time for himself. We made sure we had no questions for each other and agreed not to contact each other for a long time so that we would have time to move on. After about two months I felt I was in a good place to check in on him, he wanted to take me out for dinner. After that I was confused and asked him where he stood: were we reconnecting to pursue friendship or more. He said he still had feelings for me and after a week of discussion we decided to give our relationship another try. It feels like a totally new relationship and I am forever grateful.

It's important to remember that every relationship is different and the reasons people part ways are also always different. Be careful when getting back together with an ex because you could just be romanticizing the past! Remember the circumstances of the breakup.

Mine split up with me about a week ago after falling out of love with me... Completely out of the blue and unexpected! Nothing had changed between us and we were both still so happy or so I thought... I've giving him space as we're in no contact but he appears to be acting like I broke his heart by wanting no contact and not knowing if we can be friends in the future... I still have a lot of questions so I'm considering asking to meet up and seeing how he is in a few months time to see if I can get those answers but I don't know if that's a good move or not?

I feel stronger than I did a few days ago I was just curious to see if what had happened to other people and there exs! Thank you for the response :)
