Control lines?

I keep seeing post about control lines and testing every day! Is this normal? Should I be doing the same? First time pregnant and have no idea what I’m doing 😅😅

I only tested a total of 3 times. Once at 12dpo with a Walmart cheapie, once 13dpo with a FRER, and once at 25dpo with a FRER and digital. I didn’t bother testing every day to check how dark it got because my first two tests were positive enough to convince me I was pregnant lol. The one at 25dpo was mainly to confirm I was *definitely* pregnant and my HCG was increasing before I announced it to my best friends.

Don’t test more. Don’t drive yourself insane. For me I test constantly as I have a history of pregnancy loss. You don’t need that kind of anxiety in your life. Best wishes for a happy healthy pregnancy!

I test until I have a dye stealers (a test where the test is darker than the control) because I’ve had multiple losses and when they use to get lighter it would help me mentally prepare. I’ve had 7 pregnancies, 3 are healthy babies and 3 were losses. This one is looking good and HCG levels are super high! (Also only get blood work due to trauma/anxiety from my first loss that had complications involved). Continual testing is more of a mental thing and for me is a coping mechanism for my anxiety

People normally do this to keep checking for progression. Maybe these people have had a loss or a medical reason which makes them worried. Or maybe they’re a good old fashioned test-a-Holic. 
Testing daily can sometimes do more harm than good if you get caught up on the lines getting darker. 
If you don’t see the need then I wouldn’t bother.
