Ladies who had NST done???

Question

My doctor just called and wants me to come in tomorrow for a NST since I had to start taking a blood pressure medicine. 
I googled it of course but I’d rather hear from your all’s experience with this than a website🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes, it’s common for high risk pregnancies after week 30- I have all of mine scheduled through early may.. they’re pretty simple and non invasive- expect them to last anywhere from 30-45 minutes.

I had them done biweekly from 28 weeks. They’re really no big deal, they hook you up to a monitor that monitors heart rate and movement. They sometimes also buzz your belly gentle to test baby’s reactivity. You just sit for about 20-30 minutes. My OB has super comfy recliners in the NST room so I just tried to kick my feet up and relax.

It sounds way bigger and more scary than it actually is. I feel like they should tell first time moms  what it is lol it made me worry too!
It's literally just a belly monitor. A disc with an elastic belt. It measures baby's heartbeat and movement while you lay back. That's it.
