Do you ask your partner about their previous relationship? Why or why not?

Like ask them about it not necessarily to grill them or start a fight. Idk I saw a post where people said they don't talk about their partners pasts so I was wodnering how many really don't do it? I guess for me I like knowing my partner head to toe like knowing who they are, what they've been through, their mistakes, why it didn't work out in the past and so I don't make the same mistake in our relationship things like that.

No because it’s in the past everyone has history unless it’s relevant to my current relationship I don’t need to know.

We've been EXTREMELY  open about everything from our past. He made some very curious choices. 
We didn't talk about it to start a fight. Its just kinda fun to learn who we use to be and how we grew from past relationships.

Yeah, I like to know a partner as well as I can, so I love to know about their past experiences & past relationships. 
It doesn't bother me to know at all. It teaches me about them.

Well we’re from a small area so I basically know all his exes, or at least know who they are. We’ve known each other for 15++ years and he was actually my high school boyfriend (we split up and got back together almost 9 years ago). I already knew the girls he dated before we dated in high school then again before we got back together in our 20s, I really don’t need to hear details about those relationships. After almost a decade together, if there was something important in those relationships he needed to tell me, I’d expect he would have already.

If they bring it up I’ll talk about it. Id be worried if someone was constantly bringing up an ex, especially if they were being mean about them.
