What does early labor feel like?

I know it’s different for everyone but what was different during early/active labor for you that made you realize it was real!

I felt like I needed to poo 😂 I know, tmi, but I honestly didn’t even realise I was going into labour until by boyfriend said “are you sure you’re not in labour?” after the 5th bathroom trip in half an hour for a non-existent poo 😂😂😂 I’m glad one of us paid attention in the antenatal classes 🤷‍♀️ 
Shortly after that, the contractions started properly

My water broke before I started shaving any contractions. After that the early labour just felt like a tightening.
