Redundancy

Hi yall, I’ve been with my employer 15 years, I’ve had two babies in the last 3 years and we are now ttc again, I’ve been in two minds about returning to this job as the hours are not very family friendly however they have just told me my role is being redundant so I’ll have to apply for the new role ( which is my current job just changed) should I take redundancy given that I might not return after baby 3 ( all assuming we’re lucky enough to conceive) or is returning to work with in intention of leaving after baby 3? I feel guilty going back just for the maternity pay

Dont feel guilty. They dont feel guilty for “redundancing” you position. Its business. And you take care of you and dont worry about the business because i gtd u they have people who they pay to look out for their business. So you look out for yourself and attend to your own needs.

Yep... they have bosses, managers, financial analyst etc watchingnout for their business..... and who is watching out for your business and making decisions that put your family in favorable positions! You madame! Do what benefits you and puts yourself in a good spot! In business every body is replaceable.... the role you play in your family .. is not!

Most corporations don’t give a fuck about their employees. Do whatever’s best for you and your family

This, right here!! No one feels bad for you losing a job bc of their “restructuring,” so don’t feel bad for working for your needs until you “restructure” your family!

Yes. For one you're not even certain yourself about conceiving again. Would you still leave if you didn't have any more children? For two, don't feel bad about staying for the maternity leave. You're still giving them productive work until you conceive and are ready to give birth. That could be about a year from now.
